Sharing Through Food
The children enjoy shopping and preparing snacks to bring to school for their friends.
This is a wonderful opportunity to talk to your child about being healthy and healthy eating and sharing what they like to eat.
General Snack Information at The Montessori Home School
Snack here at school is provided by each family for one week at a time. There is a rotation throughout the year. I provide snacks when we begin the year and then in October the rotation schedule comes out. I try to align your snack week with your child's birthday as well.
I strongly encourage a "Thank You Bite" and then it is acceptable to say, No thank you, I do not like it. I always tell the story of when my Anna always said she did not like cherry tomatoes, but she always tried them. Then one day, miraculously, she tried them and LOVED them. She had a huge SHOCK and now she eats them all the time.
Giving children the chance to share what they enjoy eating at home with their friends can open up new worlds for children. Be creative and if you need ideas, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or other veteran parents at school. As many experiences that we can provide for the children lends to enriching their lives.
I sincerely hope you enjoy shopping and preparing snacks forschool with your child.
